Synopsis: James (Duchovny) and William (West) are two brothers who inherited their father’s millions ten years ago. But the way they led their lives since that point had been different. While James invested the money in businesses before setting up his own, William left his job and attempted to live off the interest with his wife, Nicola (Anderson) and their two children. However, as the money slowly disappears, both Nicola and her husband start getting desperate to keep up their lifestyle while William searches for a job. James on the other hand, keeps a quiet life with Jennifer (Moore) and their teenage daughters. One night after work, James and William go out for drinks, but when William leaves, James carries on drinking leading him to met Sara (McElhone). The pair sleep together, and thinking they’ve gotten away with it, James never expects to meet her again.
That is until Sara meets Nicola after bumping into her in the library, the pair bonds after fighting over the last copy of Emma. Sara spills everything to Nicola about sleeping with a married man, just not disclosing his name, but Nicola is smarter than anyone thinks and puts one and one together. She sees this as the perfect way to get out of the money issues, blackmailing James in turn for her silence. But as Nicola starts to spend more time with him, can she carry on using him to get money to live off?
